Banner & Large Format Printing Prices in Kenya (2026)
Body copy
Large format printing covers everything from a 60 × 90 cm pull-up banner to a building wrap measuring tens of metres. Pricing is almost always quoted per square metre, which makes it easy to compare once you know the rate — and easy to be misled if you do not.
This guide sets out what banner printing costs in Kenya in 2026, how the material changes the price, and what to specify when you order.
Banner printing prices in Kenya
| Material | Typical use | Price (KES per m²) |
|---|---|---|
| Backlit film | Lightbox displays | From 800 |
| PVC banner (440gsm) | General outdoor, events | 1,200 – 2,000 |
| PVC banner (510gmatte) | Premium outdoor, longer life | 1,800 – 2,800 |
| Mesh banner | Windy areas, building wraps | 2,000 – 3,500 |
| Fabric banner | Indoor, exhibitions, backdrops | 2,500 – 4,000 |
| Reflective banner | Roadside, night visibility | 3,000 – 5,000 |
| Canvas | Indoor displays, photography | 3,500 – 6,000 |
A standard 80 × 200 cm roll-up banner graphic typically costs between KES 2,500 and KES 12,000 depending on material and whether the frame is included. Backdrop banners for events range from KES 33,000 to KES 55,000 depending on size and frame type.
What changes the price
Material is the primary driver. A 440gsm PVC banner and a reflective banner can differ by a factor of three or four for the same area. Match the material to the environment — mesh for windy locations, reflective for roadside, fabric for indoor.
Size is not linear. Doubling the area does not double the cost. Large formats benefit from economies of scale in printing, so the per-square-metre rate drops as the banner gets bigger.
Finishing adds cost. Eyelets are standard and usually free. Pole pockets, hems and reinforced edges are charged extra but worth it for outdoor use — a torn banner is a wasted banner.
Installation is separate. Most printers charge for installation on large formats. Ask whether it is included before comparing quotes.
PVC vs vinyl vs mesh vs fabric
- PVC (440gsm) — the default. Waterproof, durable, good for general outdoor use. The workhorse of event branding.
- PVC (510gsm matte) — heavier, more premium, better for longer-term outdoor display.
- Mesh — perforated to let wind through. Essential for building wraps and any large outdoor banner exposed to wind. Without it, banners tear.
- Fabric — wrinkle-free, premium look, best for indoor exhibitions and photo backdrops. Not waterproof.
- Reflective — visible at night under headlights. Used for roadside and safety signage.
How long does banner printing take?
Standard PVC and vinyl banners are typically ready in 1–2 working days. Mesh and fabric may take longer due to material availability. Large building wraps and billboards can take 3–5 days including installation.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a roll-up banner cost in Kenya? From KES 2,500 for a standard 80 × 200 cm unit. Premium materials and larger sizes go up to KES 12,000.
What is the difference between PVC and vinyl banner? They are largely the same material. "Vinyl" is the generic term; PVC is the specific plastic. The weight (440gsm vs 510gsm) matters more than the name.
Can banners be used outdoors in rain? Yes, PVC and mesh banners are waterproof. Fabric banners are not suitable for outdoor use.
Do I need to provide artwork? Most printers prefer a print-ready PDF at the exact banner size. Many will design for you at an additional cost.
How long does a banner last outdoors? A 440gsm PVC banner typically lasts 1–2 years outdoors. 510gsm and reflective materials last longer. UV lamination extends life significantly.
